Canon TS-E 17mm f/4 L Tilt-Shift Lens

tilt shift

This is the state-of-the-art lens for architectural photography that offers unparalleled perspective control. Shift movements correct the trapezoidal effect seen in pictures taken of tall objects, so as not to distort the subject like large rooms or home exteriors. Ordinarily when we tilt the camera with a regular lens on it, parallel lines converge, and trees and other elements in the frame can look like they're falling backward This is truly a perspective correction lens that allows us to get closer to the subject without distortion. Back in the day, Ansel Adams used his View Camera to achieve similar results with his view camera!

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM Lens

tilt shift

This is an exceptional telephoto zoom lens sports aconsistent wide apertures and performs flawlessly in low lighting conditions. This lens doesn't go on all assignments due to its weight and size however when we need a "money shot" of a sunset view over Folsom Lake or a nighttime panorama of the city lights in the Sacramento Valley, we make room in the bag for this classic Canon pro lens.

On Location Sample Setup

Here is a photo of one of our location lighting set ups. Color accuracy and exposure is a must and that’s why we bring up to 3 high power Quantum Q flashes powered by large capacity Quantum Turbo batteries that that can splash more than enough beautiful light to the largest interior. We also use smaller Canon portable flashes to extend light into other rooms or even bring in light from outdoors. All of our lighting is radio controlled via a Quantum Instrument Pilot which allows exposure control of 3 independent zones.
