I have been in the mortgage business Since 1999. I have worked in almost every facet of the business from retail, wholesale and banking. I have a deep knowledge of markets and trends and understand the how and why of markets and how they affect your mortgage rates. I have personally closed over $668 million in funded loans.

We started Blackhawk Financial Group in 2003. The unique part of our company that sets us apart from our competition is that we operate as a banker and a broker in 37 states. Operating as a banker we have full control of the loans. We underwrite, process and sell our loans to Wall Street much like the Wells Fargo’s and the BOFA’s of the world. The benefit is that we don’t have the time delays and our rates are typically lower because we pass the saving directly to the borrower. Being a smaller bank we don’t have the large overhead that the larger banks do and therefore have to “pad” their rates. As a broker, we have access to hundreds of banks which gives us versatility on products we can offer. It also allows us to get the best rate for our clients. Many of the banks listed above only have their own product line to offer which constrains them on being able to get some of the out of the box loans funded and if you do not meet their stringent criteria then your loan will rejected by that bank.
